Android Studio 2.0 has been released for the developers to develop apps for different devices which include phones and tablets, Android Auto, Android Wear, and Android TV. This IDE from Google includes a code editor, emulators, code analysis tools and more. It has been 1 and half year since the first version of Android 2.0 and there are many new features included in the recent release. Let’s have a look at those features.
- The new version has a feature called Instant Run. With this, the developers can build apps faster than before. They can also make and see the changes live in a running app. It also includes VM hot swapping, warm swapping app and many other resources.
- The new emulator has three times faster speed than the previous Android emulator. The ADB enhancements allow the developers to push data and apps 10x faster to the Android emulator. The new emulator has new features to manage calls, battery, network, GPS, and more.
- With the new feature of Cloud Test Lab Integration, the developers just have to right the code once and then test on different physical devices, within the Android Studio 2.0.
- The IntelliJ 15, on which the studio is build upon, has also been updated in the recent release.
